Split the Bill is Myra Dirnfeld and Elisa Geliebter, who have been singing together for 10 years. Their music will envelop you with breath-taking harmonies and interwoven acoustic guitar accompaniment. Both being songwriters, their originals are firmly rooted in the local tradition of melding mountain harmonies and melody with a rock and roll sensibility. (What Gram Parsons called "Cosmic American Music"). Well-loved covers by artists including The Beatles, Jackson Browne, Fleetwood Mac and The Indigo Girls round out their live shows. Even though Elisa and Myra's musical backgrounds are different, they understood almost immediately that they shared a deep musical bond. Myra's major influences were Simon and Garfunkel, Dylan and Led Zeppelin. Elisa's universe shifted during "Cadillac Ranch" at a Springsteen concert. Their current focus is on songwriting, finishing their second album, nurturing their musical connection and sharing it with anyone who has ears.
